Does PlayPerks work with all Shopify themes?
Yes! PlayPerks uses Shopify's official Theme App Extension system. The game block can be added to any Online Store 2.0 compatible theme via the Theme Editor — no coding required. It seamlessly inherits your store's styling for a native look.
How are discount codes generated?
When a player wins, PlayPerks automatically calls the Shopify Discount API to create a unique, one-time discount code. The code is then displayed to the player and optionally emailed to them — fully automated, zero manual effort.
Where are customer emails stored?
We never store customer emails in our database. Instead, a customer account is directly created in your store's Shopify admin panel. We never share or sell your customer data. All communication with the backend happens through Shopify's secure App Proxy — no API keys are ever exposed publicly.
Can I customize the games' appearance?
Yes. From the Preferences panel in the admin, you can adjust colors, branding, game speed, score thresholds for winning, and the discount percentage offered as a reward. Growth and Scale plans offer deeper customization options.
Will the game slow down my store?
No. The game widget loads asynchronously and only initializes when the player interacts with it. Game scripts are optimized, minified, and obfuscated for production. Your Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse scores remain unaffected.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
You retain your current plan's benefits until the end of your billing period. After that, your account automatically transitions to the Free plan. Your data and email captures are always preserved — you never lose your subscriber list.
Is there a developer API or webhook support?
PlayPerks is built on Next.js with a robust API layer. The Scale plan includes access to advanced integrations. Contact our team via the in-app Contact Us page for enterprise-level webhook and API requirements.
How do I get support?
You can reach us through the in-app Contact Us page (which includes a live contact form and Calendly booking), via email at hello@ocdlab.co, or through the in-app Crisp live chat. We typically respond within 24 hours on business days.
What happens to my discounts if I uninstall the app?
When you uninstall PlayPerks, we automatically clean up and remove any discount codes generated by the app. Don't worry—your own store discounts or those created by other apps will remain completely untouched. We make sure your Shopify Discounts section stays clean and organized!
